GUERNSEY ISLAND 2010 (19)
As owners and lovers of Guernsey cows, we had wished for years to visit Guernsey, the original home of these beautiful animals. In October of 2010 we flew from England to the Island of Guernsey where we spent a week exploring the unique landscape, culture and history, and visiting the farmers and cheesemakers of Guernsey. Originally a Norman French settlement, Guernsey has a unique culture, including a local language. All signs are in French first, then English. Guernsey is not a part of Great Britain, nor is it a member of the EU, but is a separate entity with its own government. Though it is a small island, it feels much larger, and is fascinating to explore. -
